Applications
Buildings and construction elements are subject to deformations and geometric variations. The arrangement of expansion joints contributes to reducing the effects that these variations have on the building as a whole, preventing the appearance of pathologies.
The CTE (Technical Building Code) in its DB-SAE (Building Actions), establishes that in concrete or steel buildings, expansion joints will be arranged so that there are no continuous elements of more than 40 m. of length.
The Novotapajunta NDP range is a simple solution that covers and protects structural joints in facades and walls. It has an additive that gives it resistance to UV rays, which guarantees its installation both indoors and outdoors with excellent performance.
The Novotapajunta NDP range has a flat or angle finish, providing solutions to any type of installation. It is available in sizes that cover joint widths up to 130 mm. (flat model) and in three neutral range colors to choose from.
Technical characteristics
- Weather resistance: Very good
- Resistance to chemicals: Very good except for chromic acid, sulfuric acid and organic solvents such as acetate and toluene
- Working temperature: -10ºC / + 60ºC
- Resistance to corrosion: Very good
Materials
PVC
The range Novotapajuntas NDP is made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride).
PVC (polyvinylchloride) is an amorphous polar thermoplastic polymer with great resistance to abrasion, corrosion and a wide range of chemical products. It has good impact resistance, low water absorption, low electrical conductivity and is dimensionally stable.
Installation
Novotapajuntas NDP is easy to install with the supplied stainless steel fixing clips.
- Clean both the bottom of the profile and the surface where it will be placed, as well as the gap in the joint.
- Insert the first clip in the slot enabled for this purpose. To do this, press the top of the clip with your fingers and snap it into the slot. Without releasing, slide to the desired position and finally release it so that it is fixed.
- Continue inserting the remaining recommended clips. Insert them alternating the insertion direction in each clip.
- Once the clips are in place, place the profile in front of the joint and insert it until it clicks into place.
The fixings remain invisible, preserving the aesthetic appearance of the profile.
Cleaning and maintenance
Cleaning can be done with water and detergent or specific cleaner in solution. The correct use of bleach does not affect you. The use of chromic, sulfuric acid or organic solvents such as ethyl acetate, acetone or toluene is not recommended.
